Jenifer Nold, MA, LPC
Jenifer Nold LPC, founder of Catalyst Holistic Health, is a somatic (level II) based trauma therapist, and is trained in EMDR. Jenifer believes the deepest human longing is to be known and loved. Often, our adverse life experiences create fear, anxiety, anger, shame, and confusion, which rob us of authentic relationships.
As a trauma therapist, Jenifer works with the body and central nervous system to identify and target stored trauma physiology, discharging it, and therefore helping the nervous system to come back into a balanced baseline state. Thus making it possible for the client to find joy, contentment, and overall wellbeing in their life.Trauma physiology often manifests as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, negative self talk, dissociative states, chronic pain and more.
Jenifer comes with 9+ years of experience working with attachment and developmental trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, dissassociative disorders, chronic pain, autoimmune, and vestibular issues. With an investigative lens, she takes a root-cause approach seeking to collaborate with her clients to get underneath the symptoms and target the origin of distress. Jenifer works to assist clients in healing mind, body, and soul rather than just managing symptoms.
Somatic experiencing
Somatic Experiencing (SE™) , the life’s work of Peter Levine, is a body based approach that works to heal trauma and/or stress disorders. The SE™ approach works to release trauma from the body and nervous system, which helps to alleviate symptoms associated with PTSD, early attachment disruptions, and other stress disorders.
Trauma may originate from acute or cumulative stress, life-threatening (real or perceived) events, major losses or separations, medical procedures, sexual assault, war, birth trauma, natural disasters, and more. SE™supports the completion of self-protective responses and helps to release stored trauma physiology in the body and thus getting to the root cause of the trauma symptoms. This is done by supporting the client to slowly and safely develop a tolerance for difficult sensations as they arise in the body that are associated with traumatic events and suppressed emotions.
